Banff Events

Going to Banff events may not initially be your idea of a perfect Banff getaway as, for most people, just being in Banff IS an event. However, from attending the opera at the Banff Centre to taking in the ice sculpture festival at the Chateau Lake Louise or some culture at the Whyte Museum, get the most out of your trip to Banff by taking in any one of these Banff events or visiting there institutions. WATERKEEPER ALLIANCE FUNDRAISER - CELEBRITY SPORTS INVITATIONAL

Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.'s Waterkeeper Alliance fundraiser never fails to bring out celebrities to Banff in the third week of January. Our Banff Waterkeeper Alliance Fundraiser page has detailed information on this celebrity-filled event.

WHYTE MUSEUM OF THE CANADIAN ROCKIES

The Whyte Museum of the Canadian Rockies is a must stop for those who are interested in exploring the artistic and cultural aspects of Banff and the Canadian Rockies. Take look at upcoming events at the Whyte Museum.

THE BANFF WORLD TELEVISION FESTIVAL

This international event typically takes place in June of each year, with 2009's event running from June 7-11. This event will obviously appeal more to those involved in a career in television or interested in pitching a show, but the star power does come out for this Banff event as well.

SKI SWAPS

One benefit of Canmore and Banff being the home base for the Canadian national alpine ski team (cross-country and downhill) is that when the ski season begins, the numerous ski teams that also train here try to raise money by selling beautiful, nearly brand new, ski and snowboard equipment that has accumulated over the last season in the garages of the many residents. If you are around in October, make sure to ask around if there are any ski/snowboard swaps taking place, as you can be sure to find yourself a good deal on equipment and clothing.
